I was born and raised in Marietta, GA, where I attended Walton High School and took an honors/AP curriculum. During high school, I tutored other students in my Latin classes. After completing a double major in Latin and music at Furman University, I attended Vanderbilt University and obtained a master's degree in the classical studies, which include ancient Latin and Greek language and Greek and Roman history and culture. As a part of my studies at Vanderbilt, I taught two semesters of elementary Latin to undergraduate students; I taught class and evaluated students' performance with minimal supervision. After completing my master's degree, I attended the University of Georgia School of Law and obtained a J.D. I have passed the Tennessee Bar Exam and am licensed as an attorney in Tennessee.
