I am an experienced, established math tutor (K-12) and SAT/ACT math/science test prep teacher. My goal is to connect with the student at THEIR level. We start by going over the fundamentals and basics of problem solving and work the thinking up from there to foster independent thinking. I use varied approaches when the student is "stuck". I am friendly, patient and persistent. I can assist with classwork and homework, and will assign supplemental work to advance the subject area as needed or desired. My goal - to ultimately work myself out of a job!
I specialize in pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, SAT/ACT math and ACT science. For standardized test prep - we review the basic concepts that are tested, go over proven test taking tips and strategies, and practice exams. For SAT and ACT math, I have developed my own curriculum. It's easier to raise your score than you think! I also can assist with college searches.
