I have always enjoyed working with children and while I was in college I worked as a part-time substitute teacher as well as an after school counselor for the YMCA. It was during this time that I decided I wanted to become a teacher. My first teaching job was a Pre-K Varying Exceptionalities job but soon decided Middle School was where I wanted to go. I continued to teach in a traditional classroom for 5 more years, grades 6-8, Science, Math and Reading, while tutoring private students after school. My last year of teaching I toured stateside and internationally with "Bear in the Big Blue House" and was responsible for teaching all subject areas to my four students. At the conclusion of the tour, I went to Canada for three months to teach on the set of “Ice Princess”, which proved to be an amazing experience. I like the ability to work individually with students to help them achieve their academic goals.
