In addition to my formal education, I have been a model life long learner. I am a certified special education teacher and enjoy working with students all the way up to college in reading and writing. I have eleven years of experience in this field which includes working in a variety of teaching positions including students with diverse disabilities. I have also had a great deal of experience working with students in 3rd and 4th grade preparing them for the New York State Assessments. I also have the experience and materials to tutor students who are in need of the Wilson Program.
I teach learning strategies to students so they are able to learn how to compensate for their disability and not rely on a tutor for a long time.
Currently, I tutor part-time in the Program for Potentially Gifted College Students with learning Disabilities at Dowling College.
