Over the years I have undertaken teaching roles in a variety of educational settings and among various populations and cultures. These experiences have given me the tools to formulate a teaching and tutoring approach that allows me to effectively serve in a variety of settings In terms of my educational philosophy; I believe that every student is exceptional and has something distinctive to contribute. I try to help my students embrace their individuality, express themselves, and accept others for who they are. I endeavor to foster an environment in which students can reach their greatest potential and are encouraged to express themselves. I also understand that each student learns differently, and so I try to engage all their senses in an effort to accommodate their diverse learning needs.

Education:

I have spent the better part of the last 15 years as both a counselor and English teacher. I specialize in working at both the elementary and university levels. I hold an associate of science, a bachelor of science, and a master of science in the social sciences field. I also hold a 120-hour TESOL certificate and a 160-hour advanced TEFL certificate. I specialize in preparing students for the IELTS and TOEFL Exams. Additionally, I offer business English, English conversation and accent reduction classes. My language arts, spelling and grammar classes use straightforward and dependable techniques to help students quickly learn and understand important concepts and develop abilities including fluency, punctuation, and sentence structure. My ESL language class strengthens the students’ English speaking and writing abilities as well as their listening and comprehension skills.
