I had the pleasure of teaching both ESL and English Language Arts in a middle school in New York City for three years, and spent another two years as the ESL coordinator at an American school in Venezuela. There I scheduled and taught ESL to students from the 2nd to 9th grades, as well as 7th grade English. I tutored both students and adults in English and Spanish at both institutions. I have also privately tutored adults in Spanish.
I am currently studying Anthropology and hope to attain my doctorate in 2012. I greatly enjoy teaching the subject as well as conducting research. Overall, teaching is my passion and I plan to work as an educator as long as I am able. In both the classroom and private setting, I use a range of teaching methods that are adapted for my students in order to keep them engaged. I hold an MA degree in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language, and have taught the subject to K-12 students as well as adults. I have tutored adults in English literacy, ESL, Spanish conversation and grammar.Currently, I am a student in the PhD program in Anthropology at the University of South Florida. I am currently a teaching assistant for undergraduate classes in the subject, and will teach my own Introduction to Anthropology class in the fall.
