I am a tenured elementary school teacher with Desert Sands Unified School Teacher. In 2003, I was nominated by the Veterans of Foreign War for teacher of the year. I won for Desert Sands Unified School District, Riverside County and was runner up for the state of California. My philosophy is all children can learn. I believe that children learn at different rates and in different ways, so as a teacher, I will use a wide variety of strategies and materials to meet the needs and learning styles of all of my students. I will employ questioning techniques and other strategies that will challenge students at all levels of ability to extend their thinking and to stretch beyond where they think they can go in terms of achievement. I embrace the diversity of our society, and I refer to diversity in its broadest sense (race, ethnicity, gender, ability level, language proficiency, economic status, exceptionalities, learning style, etc.) I believe in utilizing the diversity of our classroom,
I graduated at Cal State University San Bernardino in 2000 with a Major in Liberal Studies and a minor in Psychology. I am currently pursuing my Masters Degree in Education.
